TCNJ’s Interactive Multimedia Department and the Sarnoff Collection are pleased to present the “Sarnoff Interactive Exhibit Expo” a showcase of student interactive design projects to be held on Friday, February 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event, which will be held in the Sarnoff Collection in Roscoe West Hall, is free and open to the public.
As TCNJ Professor Mark Thompson has explained, “Interactive digital technologies are transforming the experience of visiting and learning in museums.” Working as a collaborative design studio, students in the College’s “Interactive Exhibition Design” course created state-of-the-art technologies for TCNJ’s Sarnoff Collection—an on-campus museum drawing from over 6,000 artifacts that document major developments in communication and electronics in the 20th century. These projects are intended to expand the museum’s message, enhance public engagement, and extend the visitor experience beyond the walls of the museum.
Student projects will include: Sarah Polansky – Interactive Telegram Application; Daniel Shaw – Augmented Reality Photographs; Kenneth Carter and Theodore Christine – “The RCA Challenge” a Sarnoff Collection Video Game; Nicholas Bobryk and Brian Passafaro – Reconstructing the First RCA Color Television; Al Gaillard, Erin McGowan and Briana Wickham – An Interactive Timeline of RCA History; Matthew Mance – Augmented Reality Television; and Rachael Lyngholm and Maxwell Richards – “Nipper Leads the Way,” an Augmented Reality Tour of the Sarnoff Collection with Nipper the Dog.
