Important Summer News – Sarnoff Collection closed for building renovations

Due to building-wide facility remodeling and structural upgrades the Sarnoff Collection is open on an appointment-only basis June, July, and August. If you would like to schedule a visit, ask a question about the collection, or share information about David Sarnoff, RCA/Sarnoff Laboratories, or other aspects of 20th century media PLEASE email us at sarnoff@tcnj.edu. We will respond within one business day.

Over the summer we will publish results of recent collaborations with TCNJ students, provide previews of upcoming exhibitions** and programs, and highlight additions to the Sarnoff’s permanent collection. Please check back regularly, and please check us out on Facebook and Instagram for informal updates on our work, for information on the activities of our peer organizations, and for some plain old fun content.

At the conclusion of the work at Roscoe West Hall the Sarnoff will have brand new neighbors (hello Tutoring Center!) and our building will have an additional entrance and some other changes (and possibly a display case near the new doors). We look forward to welcoming back our friends and colleagues soon!

**Our next show, Ephemeral Considerations, is a deep dive into the awards, memorabilia, corporate materials, and branded objects that form an important interpersonal language in any organization. The intimate stories bound up in these artifacts provide openings into larger narratives about collaboration, competition, success, and consolation. We look forward to displaying many dozens of objects from the Sarnoff Collection and hearing from viewers about the professional and personal meanings encoded within them.
